Just as it was announcing encouraging ratings data, Nickelodeon Latin America has premiered the second season of Grachi, its teen telenovela.
In the first episode of the second season, aired in Latin America on February 27 the programme generated 4.06 rating points in children 4 to 11 years and 3.69 points in the 7 to 14 demographic in Mexico.
Thus, Grachi was placed as the number one in its time over any other pay-TV channel and received a 12% increase in viewers over the first season last year and increased 4% in terms of total viewers compared to the TV premiere in 2011. The audience of children aged 4 to 11, increased by 51% week on week, 106% over the previous month and 100% for the ame month in the previous year.
In Brazil, the release of the first season on March 5 became the number one program among children's pay-TV channels
"We are definitely excited about the great reception [Grachi] has had…The phenomenon continues and remains not only on television, but comes to all fans through consumer products, online content and live show Grachi with the main cast, which will soon come to several countries in Latin America, "said Tatiana Rodríguez, VP of Programming and Creative Sr Nickelodeon Latin America.

Grachi is distributed internationally by Comarex and has been sold to over 52 countries, including Italy, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay , Peru and Venezuela, and 36 French-speaking territories, including France, Belgium and Switzerland.

A world full of magic: Nickelodeon’s new live-action show, Grachi was  created using advanced production technology and 3D effects, and has been dubbed in English exclusively for the Philippine market.
MANILA, Philippines - It’s a world full of magic in Nickelodeon’s new live-action show, Grachi! Produced by Nickelodeon Latin America and created by Venezuelan author, Mariela Moreno, Grachi is a fantasy telenovela that follows the adventures of a teenage girl who, while adjusting to a new town, new school, rivalry, love and the everyday problems of being a teenager, discovers she has magical powers. Moving to a new town, making new friends, and fitting in a new school is hard enough. Discovering you’re a witch is harder. 
Nickelodeon’s Grachi  revolves around Graciella “Grachi” Alonso (Isabella Castillo), a teenager who discovers how to use her incredible magical powers while confronting her arch rival, Matilda (Kimberly Dos Ramos), who happens to be a witch too. They both battle for the attention of the school heartthrob and captain of the swim team, Daniel (Andrés Mercado). Together with Grachi’s friends Tony (Mauricio Henao), Mecha (Sol Rodríguez) and Chema (Lance Dos Ramos), it’s a battle of enchantments.
Grachi was created using advanced production technology and 3D effects, and has been dubbed in English exclusively for the Philippine market. It has recently won awards at the Kids’ Choice Awards Mexico and Argentina for Favorite Female Characters, Favorite Male Character, Favorite Villain, and Favorite TV Program.

MIAMI, Jan. 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Nickelodeon Latin America announced the start of production on GRACHI, the network's fourth original telenovela which will be shot in Miami.  The announcement was made today by Tatiana Rodriguez, Senior Vice President Programming and Creative Strategy for Nickelodeon Latin America.
The network's latest undertaking will be shot on-set and on location in Miami.  GRACHI will be produced in Spanish and customized to Portuguese for Nickelodeon Brazil and is slated to premiere on Nickelodeon Latin America during the 2nd quarter of 2011.  In addition, the telenovela will be distributed in the in the Unites States, Latin America and Europe by Comarex.
"This is our fourth original telenovela and we are thrilled to be able to shoot it in Miami," commented Rodriguez.  "In 2008, we took on the telenovela genre which yielded amazing results with our audience.  We are very excited to begin 2011 with a new production and are certain that the magic of GRACHI will enchant viewers throughout Latin America."
Written by Venezuelan scriptwriter Mariela Romero -- whose credits include La Mujer de la Vida, La Hija del Jardinero and Nickelodeon's hugely popular telenovela Isa TKM, GRACHI is a story where fantasy meets reality creating a whimsical escape for kids that is magically marvelous.
The series, which will be produced using state-of-the-art high definition technology, follows GRACHI, a young girl who must learn to use her new-found magical powers all while coping with school, boys and growing up. Her rivalry with classmate Matilda for the affection of heart-throb Daniel sets the stage for a bewitching battle of spells that is sure to captivate viewers across the region.
GRACHI will premiere pan-regionally in the 2nd quarter of 2011 and will include 75, 1-hour episodes shot in high definition.
